hours of fun...

I've been collecting board games over the past week to explore with the kiddo. A few years ago, we started out with the standard Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. I figured we were ready to move on to Sorry, Operation, Checkers and Junior Monopoly. I even threw in one of my favorite childhood movies, The Rescuers.

I was really amazed at how quickly my son picked up the new games. It has been awhile since I have played any of these board games, so I was referring to the rules often (There are a lot of rules in Sorry!). From time to time the kiddo would actually tell me what the rule was - and he was usually right!

feeling the burn

I recently tried out a new exercise class at Barre3. I have not felt this sore in a very long time! Since my son started Kindergarten, I have finally been getting into an exercise routine. I go to the gym, run, take my hula hoop class. You would never know with how sore my muscles are this morning. I should have seriously avoided the weights on the first day of class!

A good friend of mine recommended Barre3 as a great workout. Since my hula class is in hiatus right now, I figured it would be a great time to try something new. I really enjoyed it - the studio was great, the music was perfect and the moves were challenging. I'm definitely going back, just not for a few days...

the black squire

Our son's elementary school brings in the Missoula Children's Theater twice a year. All we had to do was mention stage and costume and our son was on board. Here he is as the Black Squire in King Arthur's Quest.

The whole production was quite impressive. Auditions for all of the kids are on Monday and everyone has a part before they go home. Rehearsals start the following day. As a Kindergartner, rehearsals were on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday was jam packed with a full dress rehearsal in the morning, full show for the entire school and then an evening show for family and friends. It was amazing to see them put it all together in such a short time frame.

Trevor really enjoyed himself and is excited about doing it again in the Spring. I know I'm looking forward to it! It was a crazy week for all of us, but well worth it.
