Day two of camp was not pretty. When I dropped off my son, he looked up at me with the saddest eyes and he screamed "Mom" over and over again. I could hear him from the parking lot as I drove away. When I came to pick him up, I was told he was upset for most of the three hour camp. Yikes!
Last night we had a lot of discussions about camp and how much fun it is. I kept telling him that he would have "fun with a capital F" at camp. He really seemed to be changing his attitude about camp. On day three, as I was getting ready to leave I repeated our "fun with a capital F" phrase. He looked right at me and said "F" just as his eyes filled with tears. Here we go again...
We mixed things up today and had hubby pick him up today. He was really looking forward to this. Thankfully Fern had a much better report for Dad today. After about ten minutes of crying for Mom, he actually started participating in camp. Today they made binoculars out of toilet paper rolls and he loved them. He insisted on wearing them on the way home. We are hopeful that tomorrow will be an even bigger improvement.
